Chicago, June 30, 2014 as our airplane approached O’Hare.
They knew it was coming, a Derecho, a widespread straight line of wind storms associated with a group of thunderstorms. They can cause hurricane force winds, tornadoes, heavy rain and flooding and worst of all for people in airplanes, wind shear.
Wind shear means the wind is blowing straight down quickly. When it occurs as your airplane is landing, it can cause a crash. Continue reading

Johnny-Sells.com is an on-line store in Chicago. We get a thrill to ship our items to customers in exotic locations. We may not get to go to all these cool places, but our products do. Occasionally, we research some of our customers home towns and put a link to a web site that tells about them.
We are always amazed at how fast the postal services deliver our products. Our fastest delivery was 3 days to France. Sometimes, though, Customs can delay shipments for up to 5 weeks. If your package takes longer than you think it should, whether within the US or overseas, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll do our best to track it down.
Please take a look at some of the cool places where we have shipped. Continue reading
One of the fun things about our business is shipping to exotic locations. Johnny-Sells has shipped to Botswana, Tahiti, Tajikistan and lots of places that are off the beaten path. But we think we have a new champ, Krasnoyarsk, Russia. It’s close to half way between Moscow and the Pacific Ocean. It’s WAY out there.
But don’t let that remote location fool you. Almost a million people live in this transportation hub and many of them are quite fashion conscious. They also know a great bargain when they see one. Just like our wonderful customer who purchased this Tigbags Leather Backpack Handbag: Continue reading

This note from a Japanese customer really tugged at the old heartstrings. “…On that occasion 11/March/2011 of serious disaster in our country Japan/Touhoku area, I thank for your country, people and government having assisted us variously…..” Continue reading

Several years ago, we used to sell for other people. A nice lady named Bobbie was one of our customers. She was downsizing to a smaller apartment after her daughter went off to college. Bobbie had a lot of high end furniture which she would no longer be able to use. One of the items was a beautiful marble coffee table.
All the critics are raving about this movie and I’m scratching my head. I like a lot of the Coen Brothers movies, but this one stinks. It’s got no real plot, the main character is a total jerk. There are a few characters that you almost want to like, but can’t. A lot of brooding shots of the characters being all sad, mad or frustrated. I didn’t like it at all. Continue reading
I don’t know what it’s like where you are, but here in Chicago, it’s Cold! So cold, you spell it with a capital “C”. So stay inside and shop in comfort at Johnny-Sells.
Here are a few suggestions to help you fight the cold:
Lights! Camera! Action!
I was an actor for 20 years before I became an eBay seller.
I had some success in commercials. I was the dancing husband in a Payless Shoes commercial, the frustrated business traveler unable to phone home because he didn’t have Call Waiting and the mushroom loving dad for Brown’s Fried Chicken among others.
More often, I was an extra in commercials and movies. I gained a little insight into “This business we call ‘show’”.
The lights, the camera, and the action are important, but the actors are sometimes almost an afterthought. Continue reading
